Rideout liability terms

Who is responsible for a ride – and who is not.

Only the German version is legally binding. This translation is provided for convenience only.

1. The crew is the organiser

A “rideout” (group ride) is organised and carried out solely by the respective crew and its operator (boss and, where applicable, officers). The crew operator is the sole organiser in the legal sense and bears full responsibility for planning, announcing and conducting the ride.

2. MotoMotors is not the organiser

MotoMotors merely provides the technical platform through which crews can announce and organise their rideouts. MotoMotors is not the organiser, co-organiser or tour guide of a ride and assumes no liability whatsoever for rideouts, their organisation, execution or any consequences. Any liability of the operator of MotoMotors in connection with rideouts is excluded to the extent permitted by law.

3. Responsibility of the crew operator

The crew operator ensures that the ride complies with the applicable statutory provisions of the respective country. This includes in particular – where applicable – any required permits or notifications (e.g. for larger events or special use of public roads), compliance with road traffic regulations, adequate safety measures and appropriate insurance cover. Responsibility for this lies solely with the crew operator.

4. Participation at your own risk

Participation in a rideout is at your own risk. Each participant is responsible for a roadworthy and registered vehicle, the required driving licence, adequate insurance cover, suitable protective gear and compliance with all traffic rules. There is no obligation to follow a group or to ride at a given pace.

5. Note

These liability terms are general information and do not constitute legal advice. For larger or public events, the crew operator should contact the competent authority in good time regarding any required permits.
